Medical Conditions
Hypnotherapy is a not a replacement for orthodox medical treatments and medicines. It can be used as an additional form of support but not as a replacement for certain medical conditions. If you have any doubts about hypnotherapy, please speak to your doctor or medical practitioner first.
There are things that hypnotherapy can do that no amount of medication can do, and it has been documented that some psychological based treatments that match the success rates of medications even surpass them in specific ways, have lower rates of relapses and can be applied successfully in programs of prevention.
However, this is not to conclude that medication shouldn't be a part of treatment especially in those specific instances where there are clear benefits that medication can provide over hypnotherapy. Rather, medications should be used more carefully, and with an associated recommendation for a well-considered psychological based treatment.

Already seeing another therapist?
Before making any booking any appointments for hypnotherapy, if you are already under the care of another therapist, psychologist, psychotherapist or any other form of psychological treatment, you are encouraged to talk with your current therapist first. They may or may not sanction your desire to use hypnotherapy, however, at least you will keep them informed of what you want to do.
